The ASEAN-Hong Kong Free Trade Area entered into force on 11-6-2019. Under this agreement, Myanmar is to apply tariffs in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028, 2029, 2030, 2031, 2032, 3033, 2034, 2035, 2036, 2037, 2038, 2039. Although these ASEAN national customs and trade authorities coordinate with each other, disputes may arise. The ASEAN Secretariat has no legal authority to settle these disputes, so disputes are settled bilaterally through informal means or through dispute settlement. An international treaty entitled: Agreement Establishing the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area (AANZFTA), signed on 27 February 2009 in Cha-am, Phetchaburi, Thailand, established a free trade area between ASEAN countries, Australia and New Zealand. Instead, ASEAN national authorities must rely on the verification and analysis of other ASEAN national authorities to determine whether AFTA measures, such as the rule of origin, are being complied with. Discrepancies may arise between national authorities. . . .
